Mark 1:32-34, Demons Keep a Secret

That evening at sundown, they brought to Jesus all who were sick or possessed with demons.

Needless to say, Peter's mother-in-law wasn't happy about all the sickos parading in and out of the house. Unclean spirits never wipe their feet. And besides, is everyone in Capernaum gathered outside the door? There was no way in hell she was going to cook for the whole goddamned city, especially on the sabbath.

She could feel the hot flashes coming back.

Meanwhile, Jesus cured many who were sick with different diseases, like arthritis, partial hearing loss, and people that had one leg slightly longer than the other. He avoided amputees, though. Jesus always said amputees aren't really sick. They're just amputees.

Demons? Oh yes, Jesus cast out many demons that night. He could look at you in the eyes and tell right away if you had a demon in you - even if you yourself didn't know it. Jesus did a lot of that.

None of the demons said a word that night. That's because Jesus commanded them not to speak. See, the demons all knew who Jesus was. And if they went around blabbing their demon tongues off, it would be a whole thing.

And Jesus didn't want to cause a scene.
